one morning i was very upset because my new lover had stayed over the previous night after a university party but had brought her drunken friend over to stay on the couch, and then rather than sleep in my room, my new lover kept the other person "company" and i could hear all their smooching and shmecking and it soon became too much. i opened my door and spoke into the darkness: please resume your horseplay in a home thats not my own. they cut it out, but i didnt sleep the whole night. then at the break of dawn i walked out and went down the street and sat on thr bench by the pan hoarders house and lit up a cigarette. a tear rolld down my right cheek. i extinguished the cigarette onto the tear and it made a pshhh and a terrible smell and gave a slight burn.
i was sitting there contemplating doing it again, when a thing lept into my lap. it was a tiny ginger kitten, purring and rubbing its cheek against my belly. i looked at the tag: garfield. the kitten climbed around me a little longer, then heard something in the tree and lept off me and was gone again.
