maylands - laurent and laura's house
my friends laurent and laura lived in this house on ferguson street for several years. i always enjoyed their hospitality.
their housemate hugo was a quietly bombastic man with long hair who loved to look at orchids and could sing like frank sinatra. he also had a vr headset in his room and one time we caught the same bus and got off at the same stop and he asked if i wanted to try the vr headset so i went over and we played the game beat saber in his room where you chop neon cubes of music out of the air with a light saber, and for some reason the song i chose to play was a six minute alt countrty song by jake xerxes fussell:

High was the step in the jig that he sprung...
it is a very beautiful song with a heartstopping story and im glad i got to not just listen but somatically experience it in the colourful world of virtual reality.
