maylands - old claypit lakes
if you go into the ritzy bit of the peninsula you'll find some boring manmade lakes surrounded by mandurah looking houses. its all so eerie and clean that you cant imagine anybody having a positive memory here. these lakes used to be open pit mines for the brickworks and then were redeveloped in the 2000s. theres a pretty cool 2-story gazebo. pity it looks out at nothing.
