maylands - funky alley
a funky alley or as the mural lovers would call it, "lane way".

this alley connects the 8th ave shopping strip to the street with the salvos.
from memory there are two murals that make it funky, one for the gals and one for the boys.

the gals mural is your standard "blue pensive woman with abstract shapes coming out of her head", except it is genuinely cool. notice how the womans nose is as long as her chin. this is my ideal of beauty.

the boys mural overlooks the men's bbq school (formerly the dog cafe). you will see a series of primitive ape-men, hunting deer, eating meat, and clubbing women to drag back to the cave. you will also see the bell tower, which shows that this is not the past but perth in the future- a utopia for the bbq men. you will also see that the rainbow is not lgbtq coloured but classic men's blue.
there are also various bits of graffiti drawn on the colourbond fences. my favourite is the fence with NIPS done in different colours.
